5) Provide a simple, widely accessible method for students to track progress toward a degree, major choice, milestone, etc.

Information about progress toward a degree and other notes from advisors are readily available for each student on the Online Advising Tool. The Online Advising Tool, a part of the KU portal, was available for use in 2008.

The Undergraduate Catalog clearly defines the degree requirements for undergraduate degrees. In some instances, recommended enrollments by semester also appear to assist students in academic planning. For example, the Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering offers suggestions about first- and second-year preparation, requirements for enrollment at the Junior level, and overall degree requirements.

6B. Provide a simple, widely accessible method for students to track progress toward a degree

6C. Expand use of automatic prerequisite checking for course enrollment to ensure that students have critical knowledge and/or skills necessary to support success


6D. Develop more on-line introductions (following PSYC 102 model) to General Academic Areas to help students make better informed decisions


6E. Enhance technology for tracking and recording of advising information

(i)Classroom performance, advising appointment scheduling, four year academic plans, etc
(ii)Kyou advising portal should be a central clearinghouse for this information
